Bio-Soluble Fibreglass

Fibreglass, particularly in pipe sections, offers a more economical alternative to Rockwool in industrial insulation applications when used within an appropriate temperature range. It is suitable for insulating pipe, plant and equipment and has better thermal performance then Rockwool at lower temperatures.

Forms available

Fibreglass is available from F.M.Insulation Supplies in semi-rigid sheets, flexible blankets, preformed pipe sections, rope and webbing. Also available in 100M x 1M rolls as no. 10 open weave glass cloth, used as a reinforcing membrane in mastic system (see also Mastics, Sealants, Adhesives and Tapes).

Temperature range

Fibreglass is suitable for insulating pipe, plant and equipment operating at temperatures up to 350°C. It offers better thermal performance then Rockwool up to 200°C.
